BRASS ANGLE FIRE VALVE

  • Brass fire valve.
  • 30° angle valve
  • Inlet & Outlet Male threaded.
  • Brass fire valves are critical control points in fire protection systems, used to regulate and direct the flow of water during emergencies. While similar to bronze valves, brass is favored for its strength, corrosion resistance, and lower lead content, though bronze is often preferred specifically for direct saltwater immersion due to its higher tin content.Common Types of Fire Valves
    • Landing Valves:Installed on fire risers and standpipes to provide firefighters rapid access to pressurized water. They are available in straight-through, right-angle, and oblique patterns.
    • Globe and Gate Valves:Globe valves are ideal for precise flow regulation, while gate valves are preferred for large-diameter pipelines where maximum fluid flow is needed.

    Technical Specifications

    • Pressure Ratings:Most brass fire valves are rated for working pressures between 175 PSI and 300 PSI (12–20 bar). High-pressure industrial models can exceed 600 PSI. Standard test pressures are often 1.5 times the working pressure.
    • Standard Sizes:Commonly available in nominal sizes from DN 25 to DN 100 (roughly 1″ to 4″). For larger building risers, 1.5″ and 2.5″ are standard.
    • Material Composition:Many fire valves use C37700 brass alloy for the body and bonnet. For marine use, they may feature reinforced internals made from stainless steel or polymers to resist wear.

    Marine Industry Standards

In the maritime sector, brass valves must comply with specific international standards to ensure compatibility and safety:

    • JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard):Widely used in shipbuilding, such as JIS F7334 for hose valves.
    • DIN (German Industrial Standard):DIN 86211 is a common standard for PN16-rated valves on ships.

    Configuration and Installation

Valves can be customized based on the installation environment:

    • Inlet/Outlet Options:Inlets are typically flanged (to connect to the main pipe) or threaded (BSP/NPT). Outlets can be fitted with various quick-connect adapters, including Storz, Nakajima, or John Morris (Instantaneous).
